From the author:
In 2001, 9/11 happened. It was a very hard year for many people.
It was also a stark reminder that time is our scarcest, non-renewable resource. With a renewed sense of urgency, I began asking myself what I wanted my legacy to be. And I decided I wanted to make healthcare better somehow. The how part was still formulating in my mind
So I started my company and began to tells the world the stories and ideas I’d been collecting. Stories about how customer experiences are created and how they are hardwired and sustained so that they become business as usual. Stories from outside of healthcare, from Disney where I worked for nearly two decades, from my own customer experiences, and from other industries. And some stories from people on our fabulous team of difference-makers.
This book is a collection of stories my team or I have written or told at various conferences, keynote speeches, workshops, on conference calls, or even in conversations over recent years. I believe that stories help people to make connections and to learn and improve in ways that facts and figures can’t do, and so I’m sharing them now with you - our fellow difference makers!
